Daniel McKenzie, a male transvestite, was convicted of committing an act outraging public decency and possessing a quantity of amphetamine – a controlled class B drug.

McKenzie was arrested outside a supermarket with a sex toy and dressed in female clothes (which included a short skirt) behaving in an indecent manner – a media euphemism for masturbating in public.

McKenzie, 35, was given a 12 week custodial sentence at Gateshead Magistrates’ Court which was suspended for two years on condition McKenzie was supervised by the probation services. They said he needed help.
