Perry Hockley, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted at Basildon Crown Court of two counts of sexual activity with a child between November 2005 and March 2006. Hockley, 18, was sentenced to ten months in a young offenders’ institution, suspended for two years and was ordered to carry out 100 hours’ community service and sign on the sex offenders’register for ten years.

Hockley claimed not to know that the two male child victims were aged 14. The judge accepted Perry believed the boys were 16 and that sending the defendant to a male prison would reportedly be “extremely difficult for him to cope with”.
