Colin Orr / Katniss Evergreen
Colin Orr (aka Katniss Everdeen), a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted of assault on 1 July 2019 at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court an received 90 hours of community service and 12 months’ supervision. The next day Orr appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on hate crime charges for racially abusing a policeman after attacking a taxi with crutches. Orr, 48, was convicted of acting in a threatening and abusive manner and received a £140 fine.
In July 2015 Orr faced similar hate crime charges at Edinburgh Sheriff Court of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner to supermarket staff and hurled offensive comments at officers during arrest. Orr was convicted after admitting both offences.
The 2019 assault charge occurred after an incident in June 2018 when Orr, smelling of alcohol, had approached a stranger at Ladybank Railway Station and punched him. Orr denied the assault but CCTV assured conviction. The second incident occurred in February 2019 in Leith when Orr got into an alcohol-fuelled row with a taxi driver before using crutches to batter the inside of his cab after failing to pay the fare. When the police arrived, Orr racially abused PC Derek Li and repeatedly aimed racial slurs at him while en route to the police station.
