Autumn Redpath

Autumn Redpath, a male who identifies as a transgender woman, was named by Mr Justice Bright as a respondent to an injunction imposed on the militant transgender group Bash Back, which allegedly hacked the website of the Free Speech Union (FSU) and published lists of its donors online on Wednesday 7 January 2026. The judge rejected Redpath’s request to grant an anonymity order.

Redpath, aged 22, denies being a part of the Bash Back group.

The FSU said the cyberattack had been reported to Scotland Yard and the City of London police. In the UK, both the hacking of a website and the disclosure of personal data without the consent of the data controller are serious criminal offences that can carry long prison sentences. Redpath was reportedly linked to the group by cyber security experts commissioned by the FSU, which followed a digital footprint said to have linked Redpath to the creation of Bash Back’s Wikipedia page after an initial reluctance by the police to investigate the system hack. The FSU, along with the Health Secretary Wes Streeting and the Equality & Human Rights Commission (EHRC) were identified as “targets” in the group’s manifesto.

Previously, Bash Back has claimed responsibility for graffiti and vandalism attacks on multiple targets including a venue in Brighton hosting a feminist conference, Wes Streeting’s constituency office and the head office of the EHRC – see here for further details.

In an emergency hearing in the High Court on Wednesday 7 January, the judge granted an application by the FSU to ban the group from further publication of donor details on its website and warned that anyone breaching the injunction could face being jailed.

As reported by The Times, Bash Back claimed on their website that they hacked the FSU’s website on Monday 3 January and then published a list of donors who had given more than £50 since the beginning of 2024.

The Mail on Sunday reported that Redpath has a degree in cybersecurity from Warwick University and self-describes as an “autistic, trans, anarcho-socialist hackergirl”, according to their now-deleted X/Twitter account.
