Tyrone/Trinity Sanders
Tyrone/Trinity Sanders, a violent male who identifies as a transgender woman, was convicted on 6 July 2023 at Peterborough Magistrates’ court of two counts of common assault by beating and one count of common assault. Sanders, 31, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison. Sanders is a repeat violent offender, convicted again and again of thefts and assaults, some of them racially aggravated and often against police officers and security guards.
In the most recent offences, Sanders attempted to board a train after the doors had been locked, and then ignored stations staff’s requests to move away. Sanders – described as a ‘woman’ in media coverage – spat at the member of staff and threatened them. Due to the proximity to the fast moving train and tracks, staff then attempted to restrain Sanders for their own safety until police arrived. Sanders continued to spit and kneed a staff member repeatedly in the ribs.
Investigating officer PC Sloan said: “Sanders subjected multiple members of rail staff to a frankly vile level of violence simply for trying to do their jobs, and behaviour like this will not be tolerated by British Transport Police.
In September 2021, Sanders was convicted at Northampton Magistrates Court of theft, assault by beating and criminal damage after attempting to steal wine from a supermarket and punching a security guard when challenged, then smashing a further 15 bottles of wine. Sanders admitted breaching a probation order and to being drunk at the time of the offence so could not remember all of the incident. Sanders was sentenced to seven weeks in prison and told to pay £100 in compensation to the guard.
In November 2020, Sanders was convicted of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour at the Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough in September 2020 – the offence was also racially aggravated. Sanders was jailed for four weeks and told to pay £100 in compensation to the security guard.
In August 2020, Sanders was arrested in connection with incidents at B&M in Peterborough and Park Inn Hotel in Wentworth Street and later charged with burglary with intent to steal and criminal damage of a TV unit and table (both relating to Park Inn Hotel), common assault by spitting at a member of security staff at B&M, assaulting an emergency worker by spitting at a police officer, criminal damage of a police vehicle, outraging public decency by urinating and defecating in a police vehicle and indecent behaviour within a police cell. Coverage referred to Sanders as a ‘woman’ – e.g. the headline “Woman charged with outraging public decency after urinating and pooing in police car”. See other violent trans-identified males who have committed offences involving urine and faeces under this tag and offences involving spitting under this tag. Sanders was also sought by the police for another assault in 2019.
In 2018, Sanders was convicted of a string of similar assault and theft offences in Wellingborough and Northampton, and was jailed for 22 weeks, plus ordered to pay compensation of £300. These included a racially aggravated offence against a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) involving intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour thereby causing that or another person harassment, alarm or distress. This offence and several others related to thefts of wine from Wellingborough shops (including B&M, One Stop Stores, Bargain Booze) and also includes assault by beating of a man, assault by beating of a female police officer, assault by beating of two male police officers and criminal damage to a shop.
