Roy Drummond

Roy Drummond, a male transvestite, was convicted in October 2023 at Newcastle Crown Court of attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child. Drummond, aged 35, was sentenced to 12 months in jail, suspended for two years, with rehabilitation requirements and 100 hours unpaid work. Drummond must sign the sex offenders register and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) for ten years.

The offence took place between October 7 and October 19, 2021 with Drummond claiming to be a 19-year-old from Manchester and sent pictures and videos of himself dressed up and using a sex toy to the person he believed was a 12 year old girl but was actually an undercover police officer. In the images he was dressed in clothing that included “a panty set, various coloured stockings, a pink corset and a baby doll nightie during the online conversations over social media site Kik. He also made reference to girls in school uniform as being “cute”. The court heard that Drummond has ADHD and is prone to “impulsivity and poor decision making processes” and claimed he thought he was talking to an adult pretending to be a child.
