Scott Henwood/Scarlett Lee, a male who identifies as a transgender woman, was convicted at Cardiff Crown Court in June 2025 of possessing prohibited images of a child and breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

While living in supported accommodation in May 2024, staff had discovered a prohibited image on a device owned by Henwood/Lee and police later found 80 animated images depicting adults sexually abusing children.

The defendant was bailed but on 12 March 2025, Henwood/Lee again breached the SHPO by using a name other than Scott Henwood to access a YouTube account and had not informed the authorities of the name change by deed poll. The court heard the defendant has three previous convictions for breaching a SHPO and had previously been made subject to an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years after being convicted of possessing prohibited images of children in February 2024.

At sentencing, the judge said: “You have no regard for orders made by the court. You have a persistent interest in child abuse images, but you deny having a sexual interest in children or of understanding the SHPO. Adding that there was “no or little realistic prospect of rehabilitation”. Henwood/Lee was sentenced to two years and four months in prison.

The court heard that Henwood/Lee has a number of “personal difficulties” including mental health issues, autism and bipolar disorder, and social isolation/estrangement from family following transition.

Media reports all used female pronouns for Henwood/Lee but at least used “Paedophile” in headlines rather than referring to the defendant as a “woman”.

*Update July 2026*

Henwood/Lee was convicted, yet again, at Cardiff Crown Court in 2026 of three breaches of a court order after accessing communication apps in a different name. The judge told him: “You have total disregard for court orders which is apparent from your conviction for these offences and your previous convictions. “You seem to regard them as something you can ignore or circumvent as you wish.”

Henwood/Lee, aged 32 and from Bridgend, was sentenced to two years and four months imprisonment.

Reporting in Wales Online referred to him as a woman and noted he had previously been recalled to prison (HMP Parc – a category B men’s prison) for breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) using a different name to access social media accounts. When police examined his phone after an unannounced visit in May 2026, they found he had been utilizing incognito mode, using the messaging platform Discord and accessing Reddit under the name of Scarlett Winters, all of which were in breach of his SHPO. When asked about the change of name, he said his male partner in Canada had the surname Winters.
