Toni Asik

Toni Asik, a 25-year old female who reportedly identified as a transgender man, died in HMP Bronzefield (a women’s prison in Surrey) on July 28, 2025. Another prisoner, Tracey Dyke, subsequently died in HMP Bronzefield’s detox unit just days later on July 31.

A Surrey Police spokeswoman told the Mirror: “We were called to HMP Bronzefield in Ashford around 4.30pm on July 28, following a report of the discovery of the body of a prisoner. “The death is being treated as unexplained, and an investigation is underway. It is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances or third-party involvement at this time.”

The offence Asik was convicted of is unknown, as is the date of conviction. The independent investigation by the Prisons & Probation Ombudsman is in progress and this post will be updated when the report is published.
