Evan/Eryn Browning
Evan/Eryn Browning, a male who identifies as a transgender woman, was reported to Police Scotland in April 2025 over multiple ‘sexual misconduct allegations’. The Scottish Sun reported that one woman said Browning tried to kiss her without her permission when she was just 13 years old. Another alleged she “blocked that person so many times on various dating apps because they kept messaging me.”

Daily Express coverage used male pronouns for Browning
The allegations came to light after Browning was announced as the Scottish Green party’s candidate for the Clydebank Waterfront council seat. Following the announcement, multiple constituents posted examples of inappropriate, sexualised messages allegedly sent by Browning to young women/girls. Examples of these allegations posted on the Facebook page for the local paper The Clydebank Post can be seen here, here and here. The selection of Browning as a candidate had already been criticised as “turning a blind eye to extremist views” after the candidate was revealed to have falsely accused the author and feminist, JK Rowling, of being a Holocaust denier and insisting that the trans-identified male rapist, Adam Graham/Isla Bryson, was a woman.
This isn’t the first time the Scottish Greens have had to deselect a trans activist election candidate following appalling and misogynistic online comments; in 2024, a trans-identified male named Euan Weddell (aka ‘Sophie Molly’) was blocked from running for the Gordon and Buchan seat after calling JK Rowling a “torn-face cow”, and multiple other examples of insulting and making false allegations against women’s rights activists resurfaced. Weddell was most recently seen at a 2025 Dundee protest, ranting about continuing to use women’s toilets despite the recent UK Supreme Court decision on the definition of “woman” in the Equality Act and exhorting the crowd to “all take a shite” on JK Rowling, calling her a “heinous creepy old bitch”. The trans activist and Scottish Greens Member of the Scottish Parliament, Maggie Chapman, who called the Supreme Court decision “bigotry, prejudice and hatred” can be seen in the crowd while Weddell addresses the protest.
Browning was suspended by the Scottish Greens who also said that they had “reported the situation to Police Scotland within 24 hours and will cooperate fully with any investigation.” Police Scotland confirmed that “On Wednesday, 30 April, 2025, we received a report regarding concerns linked to online communications. Officers will speak to the reporter to gather more information.”
