Alice Carlyle, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted of assault at Truro Magistrates’ Court in October 2014, after throwing a cup of hot tea over another resident at a hostel for young homeless people in the city.

Carlyle said “she felt there was about to be an incident and threw the tea in response.”

Carlyle was given a conditional discharge for a year and told to pay £31 compensation and £100 costs and surcharge.
