David Wotherspoon, a male transvestite, was convicted in 2016 of conducting himself in a disorderly manner at his home on various occasions between January and August, 2015.

Wotherspoon, 41, was said to have stood in his house in full view of the public while wearing female underclothing, rubbing his chest in a sexual manner, placing others in a state of fear and alarm and committing a breach of the peace.

Wotherspoon’s conviction was overturned at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh in 2017 after the judges ruled it had not been proved that Wotherspoon had caused alarm.
