Agata/Jack Makowska

Agata/Jack Makowska, a female who identifies as a transgender man, failed to appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court in October 2022 to answer various charges involving stalking of two female members of the public. Makowska was formerly a police officer in Devon & Cornwall Police’s Diverse Communities Team, based at Charles Cross police station in Plymouth until at least 2020 but was reportedly dismissed for gross misconduct in 2021.

This failure to appear resulted in the bench issuing a warrant without bail to ensure Makowska appeared in court to face the charges. As of September 2023, Makowska has not yet been apprehended.

According to Plymouth Live, Makowska, aged 38, is facing two charges. The first is of carrying out a course of conduct amounting to stalking of two women between May and July 2021. It is alleged Makowska’s conduct included delivering to the women a “parcel containing a headless pigeon and handwritten notes” on May 9, 2021, and on July 8, 2021 sending a letter to them “purporting to be from the NHS”. The details of the charge, released by the court, went on to allege that on July 8, 2021 Makowska attended one of the women’s homes and “poured white paint down the step”, and then on July 11, 2021 “dropped off a birthday parcel containing a headless bird of prey” to the two women.

Makowska also faces one charge of possession of a weapon designed to discharge a noxious liquid – namely a Captor spray (a synthetic incapacitant similar to pepper spray), which is the type used by police.
