Christina Moore
Christina Moore, a male who identifies as a transgender woman appeared at Southampton Crown Court on January 29, 2026 to be sentenced for failing to comply with the notification requirement of the sex offender register. Moore was sentenced to a year and a half in prison – though was not present in court – and must also pay a £187 surcharge. Moore’s index sexual offence is unknown.
Moore, aged 67, previously of Chandler’s Ford, Hants had been released from HMP The Verne but failed to register at a police station within three days of release. After entering a not guilty plea on May 30, 2025, Moore was found guilty on December 8.
In February 2022, Moore was previously found guilty at Southampton Magistrates’ Court of a similar offence, i.e. failing to comply with the notification requirements within the terms of section 80 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 by failing to notify police of an address. Moore was jailed for 26 weeks and ordered to pay £128 victim surcharge.
Local media coverage initially published the story with the headline “Woman sex offender jailed for failing to register with police” and then did a later stealth edit after receiving pushback, changing it to “Sex offender jailed for failing to register with police” although the url remains as “Woman-sex-offender-jailed…” and female pronouns are used for Moore throughout.
