Christopher Worton/Zoe Lynes
Christopher Worton/Zoe Lynes, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted in 2014 of five counts of rape against a (female) child aged between 13 and 15.
Worton Lynes, 22, received a custodial sentence in a Young Offenders’ Institute and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
In January 2019, Worton/Lynes was convicted at Worcester Magistrates Court of breaching the terms of the SHPO by visiting the home of an acquaintance while a young child was present. Worton/Lynes was ordered by the court to pay a £93 fine, a £30 victim surcharge and £135 in court costs.
Reports in the media used female pronouns for Worton/Lynes despite the convicted child rapist being named in court documentation as Christopher Worton (though apparently having assumed the name Zoe Lynes in 2017 i.e. post-conviction).
Worton/Lynes’ barrister also told the court the defendant had “experienced isolation as a result of her gender transition”, although being a convicted child rapist could also seem a likely explanation.
