Chloee-Mae Danvers
Chloee-Mae Danvers, a male who identifies as a transgender woman, was convicted at Chester Crown Court in August 2024 of multiple child sexual abuse offences. These included attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child suspected to be nine years old in breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that prevents unsupervised contact with a child aged under 18. Danvers, 25, was also convicted of distributing an indecent image of a child on August 1, 2024. The image was assessed as category A – the most serious kind of indecent image that depicts penetrative sexual abuse.
In addition, Danvers was also convicted of making a category A indecent image and two category B indecent images of children between July 30 and August 5 and failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offenders register twice, by using two different aliases on social media sites without registering those usernames with police.
Danvers had already appeared at Chester Magistrates Court the previous month for breaching the SHPO by deleting internet history and making indecent images of children (one category A and one category B indecent image).
Following conviction, Danvers was remanded into custody while pre-sentence reports are obtained and was told that a substantial custodial sentence is inevitable at a sentencing hearing set for 11 October 2024.
