Neil Giffin
Neil Giffin, a male transvestite, was found guilty by a National College for Teaching & Leadership panel of 15 out of 16 allegations made against him in 2015 concerning exploitative sexual relationships with female pupils at his school. He either admitted the allegations or the panel found them proven. The panel found Giffin’s were “sexually motivated” and amounted to unacceptable professional conduct and he was banned for life from teaching.
Giffin, 35, said he had used false names to contact his former pupils because he “didn’t want them to know who was looking at them”. He asked one girl what she thought of crossdressing and told her she looked “sexy” in tights. He also told a pupil that he was jealous of her because she “looked good in tights” and he wanted to wear them.
Giffin had appeared in the Channel 4 TV documentary Educating Yorkshire about the lives of teachers and pupils in the autumn of 2013. He had called himself “Guy Andre,” “Chelsea Smith,” “Frank Shepard” and “Alan Shepard” while messaging girls on Facebook.
Imposing an indefinite ban, Paul Heathcote, acting on behalf of Education Secretary Nicky Morgan, said: “Mr Giffin’s actions have been found to be sexually motivated. There is a repeated pattern of behaviour and there was clear potential for a vulnerable pupil to be harmed.”
