David Cross / Kelly Denise Richards
David Cross / Kelly Denise Richards, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted in 1991 of wounding a postmaster and his eight month old son in East Sussex and was sentenced to 17 years in prison. Mr David Halberg, the postmaster, was cradling his baby when Cross blasted a security screen, peppering him with pellets and debris during an armed robbery.
At the time, Cross reportedly told the court he had been “trying to raise money for a sex-change operation in Switzerland”. He wore a blonde wig and stockings under his mechanic’s overalls during the robbery.
In 2000, Cross, then aged 39 and known as Kelly Denise, was reported as awaiting transfer to HMP Holloway (a women’s prison) after undergoing gender-reassignment treatment in prison, under the care of the since discredited Dr Russell Reid.
