William Jaggs
William /Gillian Jaggs (aka Will Harrison) a violent male transvestite who may or may not identify as a trans woman, was convicted of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at the Old Bailey in 2007, and was sent to Broadmoor secure hospital.
Prosecutor Aftab Jafferjee told the court: “This was a sexually-motivated homicidal attack on an entirely innocent and blameless young woman.”
After doctors had described Jaggs as dangerous and a grave and immediate risk to others, the judge, Mr Justice Bean, said “it may never be safe to release you”.
Jaggs, then 23, stabbed Lucy Braham, 25, to death at her family home in north-west London in September 2006. Jaggs forced his way into the house and ferociously attacked her, cutting off her clothes with scissors. She had 66 stab injuries and Jaggs continued to mutilate her body after she died . The press reports of the detail of her murder are extremely distressing.
The Sun reported in March 2018 that Jaggs transferred to medium-security Littlemore Mental Health Centre in Oxford in 2015 and appears to have been fast-tracked for release after just ten years in detention; Jaggs also recently alarmed a former female neighbour (whose home he’d tried to enter prior to Lucy Braham’s) by writing to her and claiming an imminent release. The paper also reports Jaggs had a relapse in 2017 after stopping his anti-psychotic medication.
Media reports allege Jaggs, a student at the University of Oxford, had made previous rape threats against a woman and was known to possess a rape kit consisting of balaclavas, lengths of blue nylon rope, handcuffs and an assortment of sex toys. Jaggs was also was thrown out of a boarding house at Harrow School after being accused of indecently assaulting a child.
