Thomas/Amelia Connolly
Thomas/Amelia Connolly, a male who identifies as a transgender woman, was convicted at Falkirk Sheriff’s Court in March 2026 of taking or making indecent images or pseudo-images of children.
Acting on a tip-off on 5 December 2025, police found multiple indecent images on Connolly’s phone that had been generated by AI. The images superimposed a child’s face onto an adult’s body and depicted “sexualised posing and masturbation.” The images had a creation date of October 30, 2024. Connolly’s online presence includes promotion of an OnlyFans account alongside a Roblox game group targeted at children.
Connolly, aged 23 and from Alloa, Clackmannanshire, was elected to the Scottish Young Greens’ (SYG) National Council as the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DEI) Officer for the 2025/26 year, but The Courier notes that by the time of the court hearing, all mention of the post had been scrubbed from the SYG website. Previously he was a member of Young Scots for Independence, the youth wing of the Scottish National Party (SNP). Connolly posted a tedious screed justifying why he shopped around political parties, when he’s obviously just another run-of-the-mill entryist, joining whichever party he thinks he can browbeat into implementing the (deeply unpopular trans) policies he wants. The Scottish Daily Express reports that the Scottish Greens failed to suspend Connolly until he was convicted despite warnings about his conduct back in November 2025. This allowed him to carry on for several months in his role with the Scottish Young Greens whose membership is open to anyone aged 12 to 30 – i.e. a broad age range that mixes children with young adults. This safeguarding failure is a worrying echo of how procedures to protect children completely failed regarding the child rapist father and election agent of the Green’s parliamentary candidate Ashton/Aimee Challenor, another young trans-identified male promoted beyond his experience and ability. The Greens were heavily criticised for this failure in a 2019 independent report that has now mysteriously disappeared from its website. Party leadership also ignored, denigrated and even suspended a Green party activist who repeatedly tried to raise the alarm about the Challenors. Likewise, the trans-identified male sex offender Cameron Downing was protected by senior SNP party members who failed to sack him from his party role – let alone expel him – after he posted abusive tweets threatening violence against women he disagreed with. Downing was later convicted of sexually assaulting six young adults.
Connolly is also involved with the Scottish branch of Young European Movement and volunteers with Forth Valley Pride, later renamed Stirling Pride. As noted by X/Twitter user @ripxnutmeg, the conviction of Connolly brings the total to at least six Pride activists who have been charged with or convicted of sexual offences involving children in the past few months.

Connolly is the latest in a long line of abusive, misogynistic and disordered young male trans activists who have been elevated to the position of a sacred caste who are given unearned positions of responsibility, power and influence in Scottish politics (particularly in the Greens and SNP) simply because they identify as transgender. The ‘untouchable’ status of many young men under the so-called LGBTQI umbrella has arguably led to a complete breakdown in safeguarding – as evidenced by the safeguarding failures outlined above and the recent conviction of SNP politician Jordan Linden, for sex offences against ten men and boys between the ages of 15 and 18. Linden was council leader for North Lanarkshire and former leader of the Scottish Youth Parliament, where he met many of his victims. For Women Scotland has suggested he has been protected by multiple SNP politicians who appreciated his enthusiasm for Nicola Sturgeon’s brand of identity politics, especially on gender recognition. One of his cheerleaders has already been suspended from the party and dropped as an election candidate. Eight SNP members who tried to raise the alarm about Linden were expelled by the SNP and senior SNP leadership, including Nicola Sturgeon’s husband Peter Murrell and Health Secretary Neil Gray, reportedly knew about Linden’s abuse but failed to act to protect vulnerable children. Linden’s victims – who were called liars at the time – have called for the Scottish Youth Parliament to be investigated by the country’s charity watchdog, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). For Women Scotland has called for all SYP activities to cease until a review ordered by First Minister John Swinney into the SNP party’s complaints procedures is concluded.
Some media outlets managed to be clear about Connolly’s trans status but there was other coverage that was depressingly misleading. For example, a tweet from STV News earned a community note challenging misleading, homophobic nonsense from their article such as reporting that Connolly – an abusive male – is a “lesbian”.
