Christopher Noble/Christyl Knight

Christopher Noble/Christyl Knight, a male who identifies as a trans woman was convicted at Aberdeen Sheriff’s Court in 2016 of possessing over 4000 images and videos of child sexual abuse. Noble denied a further charge relating to the possession of indecent images of animals over a one-year period, which was accepted by the Crown.

Knight, now 32, transitioned in prison and was able to change both first name and surname.

Noble/Knight admitted downloading and distributing 2,000 indecent images of children and was jailed for 21 months in 2016. Some of the victims in the images were as young as six months old and police found a computer showing a live web chat discussing the sharing of children.

Police had received a tip from the National Online Child Abuse Agency about an IP address from Noble’s home being used to upload images.

A woman whose son was tragically murdered by a violent paedophile has started a campaign to prevent paedophiles changing their name. It was revealed recently that more than 800 British sex offenders have changed their names since 2011 and the number could actually be much higher since only 27 of 43 UK police forces responded to a FOI request.

Child protection expert Claude Knights is quoted as saying “Anyone who’s fuelled the vile trade in indecent images of children and therefore contributed to their sexual abuse should not be allowed to change their name.”
